Principal and Musical Director
Jeff has been performing professionally as a Musician, Composer, Arranger and Teacher for … well … a very long time. For an even longer time, his heart has been in Musical Theatre – he was delighted to be asked to “steer the ship” when Pat Batho-Davies stood down.
Has directed many West End shows but latterly was MD for Phantom of the Opera star Peter Karrie, all over the world.
His passion for all things theatrical is only equalled by his desire to pass on his immense knowledge to the students of JGSMT.
Co-Principal and Dance Teacher.
Amy is a professional Musical Theatre graduate represented by EJC management. She most recently made her West end debut in Singin’ in the rain at the Adelphi theatre, London. Other credits include : Tap Soloist on Katherine Jenkins latest album “Cinema Paradiso ” , showgirl for the La Bouche showgirl company in Germany. Amy performed at the Champions League final as a backing dancer for the Black eyed Peas and has appeared in many professional productions including the UK tour of Annie, Scrooge, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and many more, having the opportunity to perform alongside many theatre professionals such as John Barrowman , Ruth Madoc and Tommy Steele.
Amy also has experience in Film and TV, and most recently filmed for the popular series “Sex Education” on Netflix.
Whilst training at the Lorri Guppy school of dance and the New Dance School ,she completed her ISTD ballet, modern and tap exams. Amy is also a keen musician and has completed her ABRSM music practical and theory exams. Amy is thrilled to be teaching at JGSMT encouraging such talented children, and is grateful to work alongside such a great team.
Musical Theatre and Teenies Teacher
Jemima has recently graduated with a Masters in Musical Theatre from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with the Andrew Lloyd Webber scholarship and is now represented by the prestigious YOU management.
Whilst studying, Jemima’s credits included Julie (Carousel), Mrs Caldwell (Urinetown) and The Lady of the Spa (Nine). She is also fortunate to have performed in a number of professional venues such as The New Theatre, St David’s Hall and The Royal Albert Hall.
Having been a member of the ‘Jeff Guppy School Of Musical Theatre’ at a young age herself,Jemima cannot wait to watch and inspire the next generation of ‘Guppy’ children.
Zoe has had over 20 years of experience in teaching, she has taught Performing Arts and Music across many Universities, Colleges, Schools, and tutoring private students.
Alongside teaching, Zoe works developing and directing theatre projects, whilst acting and singing professionally.
Zoe is a qualified Lamda acting coach which our drama students have the option to undertake and sit their exams.
Her passion is helping students develop their skills, increase their confidence, and inspire and motivate them to be creative skilled individuals.
Lucy has been teaching dance for the past 8 years, after professional dance training at Performers College in Essex and most recently graduating from the Royal Academy of Dance with a degree in Dance Education.She has taught many genres of dance over the years including, RAD ballet, ISTD tap, Musical Theatre and Contemporary. In 2016, Lucy moved down to live in South Wales from Wrexham where she ran her own dance school. Alongside her own school she has worked in primary schools teaching creative dance workshops and in a high school teaching BTEC dance, as well as choreographing pantomime productions with local companies. Lucy is delighted to be part of the JGSMT family and continue sharing her passion and knowledge of dance!
Gareth Viader Lloyd
Street dance Teacher
During Gareth’s training at The Centre PAC he was lucky to perform and be a part of many different shows and productions. In 2008 he got to be a part of George Sampson’s (winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2008) music video Singing in the Rain. Gareth also had the opportunity to perform on the Move It stage 5 times over 2 years. Other venues Gareth has performed at include The Royal Albert Hall, Leicester Square Gardens, Leicester Square Theatre, Arts Depo Theatre London, Theatre Royal plus many other festivals and events. Gareth’s West End debut was in 2009 when he was a dancer/ensemble in an adult Pantomime called Sindafella performed at Leicester Square Theatre.
After graduation from college In 2011 Gareth very quickly started work as a dancer for P&O cruises where he stayed a part of their loyal crew for 7 years completing 7 contracts, for the last 2 contracts Gareth was promoted to the position of Dance Captain where he was in charge of the cast and the shows whilst on the the ship.
After finishing ships Gareth has been adjusting to life on land and has decided to take on the role of teacher, teaching at a number of different dance schools around South Wales. Even though Gareth misses his time at sea he loves passing on his knowledge to students who dream of doing the same thing one day.
