Jeff Guppy
Co-Principal and Musical Director

Jeff has been performing professionally as a Musician, Composer, Arranger and Teacher for …well, a very long time. For an even longer time, his heart has been in Musical Theatre – he was delighted to be asked to “steer the ship” when Pat Batho-Davies stood down.

Has directed many West End shows but latterly was MD for Phantom of the Opera star Peter Karrie, all over the world.

His passion for all things theatrical is only equalled by his desire to pass on his immense knowledge to the students of JGSMT.

Amy Guppy
Co-Principal , Musical Theatre, Dance and Singing Teacher

Amy began her professional performing career at just seven years old. Her early work includes UK tours of Annie, Scrooge, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Hello Dolly, where she had the opportunity to perform alongside many renowned theatre professionals.

She received her early training at the Lorri Guppy School of Dance and the New Dance School, completing her RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern and Tap examinations. A keen musician, Amy has also achieved her ABRSM practical and theory music exams.

Amy went on to earn a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre and trained with Tap Attack. She has also studied Estill Voice Training ( Level 1 and 2) , further developing her understanding of vocal technique and performance.

She made her West End debut in Singin’ in the Rain at the Adelphi Theatre, London. Other credits include: Wizard Of Oz ( Swansea Grand Theatre ), UEFA Gala with Welsh of the West End ( Old Billingsgate) , Aladdin , Cinderella, Dick Whittington and Robin Hood (Congress Theatre), Backing Dancer – Will Smith (Cardiff Castle) , Showgirl – Remsheider Weinachts Circus (La Bouche Showgirls, Remscheid) , and backing Dancer for Black Eyed Peas at the UEFA Opening Ceremony (Millennium Stadium)

Choreography includes : Christmas on Broadway (Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama) , Our House – Associate to Mark Smith (RWCMD) , Wizard Of Oz (Swansea Grand ) , Miss Littlewood (Wales Academy of Voice and Dramatic Arts), Crazy for you ( WAVDA)

TV includes : Rebecca Love in Murder By The Sea (Monster Films) , Amanda in We Hunt Together (BBC studios), Maeve Body Double in Sex Education (Netflix)

Other : Tap Soloist – Katherine Jenkins’ Cinema Paradiso (Globe recording studios) , Angel Dancer Florence Black Music Video.

Amy is a dance tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and is on the audition panel for the Musical Theatre course.

In 2024, Amy launched AGA Management, JGSMT’s in-house talent agency. Since its inception, the agency has gone from strength to strength, securing many exciting opportunities for young performers.

She is thrilled to be inspiring and guiding the next generation of young performers at JGSMT and feels incredibly fortunate to work alongside such dedicated and talented staff and students.

Sian Smith
Musical Theatre and Dance Teacher

Sian trained at Bird College and graduated in 2020 with a first class degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre.

Credits include : Alice Fitzwarren in Dick Whittington meets Puss in Boots , Ensemble in 100 year anniversary with London Musical Theatre Orchestra at Hilton Park Lane, Ensemble in Hansel and Gretel at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. 

Professional workshops include : Broadway  transfer of “A Christmas Carol”

Whilst attending JGSMT as a child , Sian performed in Hello Dolly , Annie, Scrooge and several QDOS Pantomimes at the New Theatre, Cardiff.

She is thrilled to be part of the JGSMT team and hopes to inspire others through her teaching.

Nick Hywell
Acting Teacher

Nick was born in Cardiff and joined the Sherman Youth Theatre when he was sixteen, progressing to the Sherman Theatre Company for his first professional job two years later.  He went on to train at the National Youth Theatre of Wales and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London. 

Nick has been a professional actor for over twenty years, including work for Sherman Theatre; Theatr Iolo; Welsh National Opera; Ffilm Cymru; BBC; ITV and S4C. 

Without the help, support and advice from his tutors when he was at a young age, Nick wouldn’t have the career he has today. Nick is passionate about passing on the knowledge and experience he has built up to the next generation. 

Ffion Arrandale
Singing Tutor

Ffion is a musical theatre graduate from South Wales. Although she specialises in musical theatre, she is also an Irish Dancing CRN champion, a highly skilled musician and First Dan Black Belt at Karate. Her professional appearances include “Puss” Puss in Boots for Image Theatre Company, “arena dancer” for The Black Eyed Peas UEFA champions League final, Actress for the WJEC Examination Videos.

Ffion previously taught at the prestigious JJA Academy in London, and was an agent for their agency, she has studied Level 1 and 2 Estill Voice training.

Seeing children progress and building confidence is a big passion for Ffion. She is keen to pass her knowledge and experience to help children develop through performing.

Erin Summerhayes
Singing Teacher

Erin trained at the Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts and Wales Academy of Voice and Dramatic Arts.

Her credits include : Alternate Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour in SIX the musical (UK and International tour) , Playlist singer/dancer ( Carnival Cruise Lines), Lead vocalist in The Original Cast (Potters resort), Vocalist for Queen of the Night concert.

Erin is thrilled to be teaching and inspiring the wonderful students at JGSMT.

Rhosyn Boyce-Jones
Singing teacher

Rhosyn is in her third year studying musical theatre in the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She is an experienced performer across a variety of disciplines including songwriting, film, TV and Stage. Professional credits include: Max Boyce’s support singer on tour (2023) Season 1 of Y Llais/The Voice (2025) Knackered – Short Welsh Film (2025)

Credits while training include: Wednesday in Addams Family (Cardiff Open Air Festival) Killer Queen in We Will Rock You (Cardiff and Vale College) Joanne in Company (RWCMD) Soloist in Christmas on Broadway (RWCMD). She is delighted to be working with the students of JGSMT, helping them develop their vocal technique, approach to acting through song and expanding their repertoire.

Amelia Evans
Singing Teacher

Amelia is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama on the Musical Theatre course. Amelia has level 1 & 2 Estill Voice Training. Professional credits include – Season 1 of The Voice Wales (Y Llais) 2025, Disney in Concert (Lead Vocalist).

Credits whilst training include : Tinkerbell in Peter Pan (Bridgend College), Beth Spencer in Merrily We Roll Along (RWCMD), Georgette in Amelie (RWCMD), Angie in Our House (RWCMD)

Maisie Brook
Singing Teacher

Maisie has been performing from a young age and has continued to develop her craft through dedicated training. She studied at LIPA Sixth Form College and is currently based in Cardiff, where she is pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Alongside her studies, Maisie offers one-to-one coaching online and regularly leads workshops for various theatre schools. She specialises in teaching LAMDA and vocal technique and is delighted to be working with the JGSMT students.

Kayleigh Whiteley
Ballet Teacher

Kayleigh started dancing at the age of 3 she trained in Penarth with the late Miss Thomas. She then went on to train and teach with the New Dance School. In 2010 she graduated from the University of Chichester with a BA(Hons) In Dance. After completing her degree she went on to study the certificate in Ballet teaching studies programme with the Royal Academy of Dance. She completed the programme in 2012 and now holds qualified teacher status with the Academy. In April 2012 Kayleigh opened her own ballet school which she ran for 9 years. The school closed in 2021 in order for her to concentre on family life. The school held a 100% exam pass rate. Since the school closed she has been freelance teaching. As well as ballet Kayleigh is also a trained Irish dancer and holds a diploma in Dance instruction with the ISTD. She is a registered teacher with the RAD silver swans programme, and is qualified to teach PBT. (Progression ballet technique) She is thrilled to be teaching the students at JGSMT!

Harrison Campbell
Commercial / Heels Teacher

From Port Talbot to the professional stage, Harrison Campbell is making waves in the dance industry with his signature bold and dynamic commercial choreography. A graduate of the prestigious Shockout Arts, Harrison has carved his path as both a powerhouse performer and an innovative choreographer. With a style that blends precision, performance, and undeniable stage presence, Harrison brings fierceness and versatility to every project. Whether commanding the stage as a dancer or creating cutting-edge choreography, he continues to push boundaries and set standards within the commercial dance scene. Harrison is delighted to be working with the students at JGSMT!

Lewis Ansell
Commercial / Heels Teacher

Lewis began dancing at a young age, partaking in various different dance competitions and performances. He started his professional dance training journey at Neath College, and then continued his training at the prestigious Wilkes Academy in Swindon. Professional credits include : The Glamour of Paris , Various Pantomimes (MTAZ Productions) & UEFA Opening Ceremony with the Black Eyed Peas.

Lewis is very excited to be joining the team and can’t wait to see how the students improve!

Onyx Uwandulu
Commercial / Heels Teacher

Onyx is in her final year studying Commercial Dance at the Wales Academy of Voice and Dramatic Arts. She is the founder and head coach of Insanity Dance, a street dance school currently holding the titles of UDO Welsh champions and having placed 4th at UDO World Championships 2024. Dancers that Onyx has coached have gone on to win multiple titles up and down the country and earn awards such as the National Entertainment Awards Dancer of the Year 2024 & Vice World Champion. Onyx specialises in all street styles & commercial with a particular passion for Hip Hop and loves to bring those influences into all other styles of dance! Onyx’ passion for aiding and helping the younger generation grow drives her teaching practice, and she aims to instil confidence in all of her dancers both on and off the dance floor.

Martha Bright
Top Junior Drama Teacher

Martha is currently training on the Musical Theatre course at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She previously attended the RWCMD young actors studio , and has been performing from a young age on stage and screen. Professional Credits include : Mcdonald’s All Wrapped Up (2015) , HBO’s His Dark Materials (2022) and BBC’s Keeping Faith (2017-2021) She is thrilled to be working with the
JGSMT students.

Donald West
Acro Teacher

Donald is an American Acro coach who has been involved in gymnastics his entire working life. His training began in Acrobatics and Dance competing for 10 years in Ballet, Tap , Jazz, Cheerleading and Acro, he then went on to train with a former gold medallist, and competed all over the world. Donald then worked professionally at Disney World, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure performing in Beauty and the Beast , The Lion King , and the Indiana Jones stunt show, Donald also worked on many Cruise ships as a tumbler and stunt artist. Donald then began coaching Acro and Cheer. He is thrilled to be teaching at JGSMT, what he loves the most is seeing the youth progress and get stronger and more confident as they learn and develop their skills.
